From chicken holes to molehills. From hill ridges to rocky outcrops. From Buel to d’Rüti to Tobel. Patricia Huijnen is interested in the small and large elevations and depressions of the Safiental landscape. These are materialized with plaster or digitized using a 3D scan. In doing so, she searches through the richness of regional place and field names and legends for localizable and non-localizable places. What words are there for places? Where is “hindere”? What words do we have for places that don’t exist?
